Production is 1971. Bore is clean and rifling looks new - hasn’t been fired much. Bolt action and stock trigger aren’t even broken in. It looks like it's a year out of the box. No marks or dings or flaws or wear on the bluing. Bluing is 99%+ easily. Any marks you see in the photos are lighting. If you've ever wanted one of these older classics, you'll be hard pressed to find one nicer.
Previous owner did the highlight gold paint thing on the lettering. Got some smudged on the bolt handle (you can see it in the pics). Looks good mostly (I think it’s pimp glitter stuff myself, dolling up a firearm like this). Regardless, it will clean off if it's not for you. I wasn't going to touch it and risk marring the otherwise beautiful bluing.
Has unusual orange colored trim (I’ve never seen it before - think the early models had it). Has hooded rifle sights, jeweled bolt (with no visible wear), floor plate (has a number engraved on it - the only blemish) and leather sling.
Test fired to adjust the rifle sights – previous owner and I had a near identical point of aim. Cloverleaf at 25 yards.
Coming up on 50 years old, and I can say, I have never seen one of these this old, original - and this clean…in my lifetime. This is a good looking piece of equipment.
