.45 Super who here actually has experience with it?

Long time no post.......

So I am off for a while letting my knee heal and I have been reading about .45 Super. I have read a lot and I understand it can go into any weapon that chambers .45 acp and yes I get the pressure difference between it and the venerable .45 acp round.

So does anyone here have any actual experience? I am thinking about swapping my Colt LWC Commander for a Government model.

No direct .45 Super experience, but I have been using the .450 SMC which is kinda in between (although some think that it is also a .45 Super, which it is not).
It has been working well in a Ruger SR1911 LW Cmdr. Bit more recoil, but nothing bad. So far, superb. No changes required to the firearm, but using the rounds strictly for "bear country" and some CCW carry. Too expensive for plinking, and don't know what the point would be.

Built a few. I never saw a need for it really with the 10mm option available
min the 1911 catagory but a couple guys wanted them.Needs to be set up right or you will see some faster
wear/battering. Well fitted barrel and HEAVY springing.

Did a few on Glocks and a USP.... never heard back on longevity.
When I talked with Ace Hindman(creator of the round) he said they would work
but hedged a bit on whether they should be converted.

As I said ... ‘ needs’ I don’t see it..... ‘wants’ to for it.

By the way....all the 1911 guys went back to standard ACP after their experiments.

I usually call that a clue �� but YMMV!

let me know if you decide to get rid of your LW Commander.
