I’m looking to buy a pistol which i can keep in my house for self defense. around $500 price range. i have a clean record - just recently dropped out of college and live in a sketchy area. PM or reply to thread if you have anything which can help with this! thanks.

I would personally recommend an older gen Glock. My first pistol was a 10mm Gen 2 Glock 20 I bought for $450 last year.
9mm pistols are common but ammo is hard to come by or expensive if people have it. A 1911 or 45 would be cool as well but those could be way over $500. Some smaller gun stores usually have a few cheaper ones around close to $500 or under.
Good luck hunting.

Free bump and FYI.
Since this is your first post, I would recommend a gun store. They can give you more info and maybe training also. I traded a pistol to a member with a CCW. He traded/sold it off and the Phoenix Police said it was involved in a crime. I kept a record of who I traded it to. Even thought records are not required in this state. Personally I have never believed in a clean record unless there is a ARIZONA CCW involved.
But good luck on looking here.

Gen 3 Glock 19s were on sale this week online for $499 and a few bucks for shipping. Add $30 for FFL transfer and you have a great home defense weapon...
