Remington 870 Tactical 17 1/2 SWAT 12 Gauge Shotgun

SOLD. Nice Remington 870 Tactical 12 gauge shotgun with 20” barrel. This used to be a Flastaff Police SWAT weapon. I will include the original stock, forend and sling. I have replaced them with a Hogue Tamer pistol grip and forend. It includes a six shell side saddle. The gun is pictured with my Mossberg 14” barrel Shockwave for perspective. Gun shoots great. Question how is this not an NFA item?

This is not a firearm it is a shotgun and needs to have 18” barrel to be legal.

Probably is measuring the exposed exterior of the barrel, instead the interior from bolt face to muzzle.

that's a legit question, hopefully he measured from the outside of the receiver not counting the sleeved neck of the barrel....

This gun was purchased from Timberline Gun Shop in Flagstaff legally. The barrel tube on my Mossberg Shockwave (pictured) measures 13 1/2” and the gun is listed as having a 11 1/2” barrel. Using the same logic, the barrel tube on this gun measures 19 1/2” so assuming the difference of 2” should be the same to compensate for the receiver area of the tube, I listed the barrel size as 17 1/2”. I may be wrong, but as this was a Police Swat gun, it may be shorter than normal.

Mossberg lists that model as having a 14 3/8" barrel on their website, just an FYI.

CKAZ you are correct, I stand corrected. My 870 barrel must be 20” if the Shockwave is 14”. I apologize for the error.

Just measure from the inside forward.

In other words with the bolt forward/action closed, run a tape measure down the barrel until it contacts the face of the bolt. The depth you see is the length of the barrel.
