View Full Version : cheap 9mm
Hey y'all, I'm looking for real experience for my question. I have been thinking about getting a cheep 9mm to throw in my bag as a backup to my backup. I have been thinking about getting a Canik55 cause its cheap and looks decent. Anyone have first hand experience? Anyone have one I could try out, with my ammo of course, ? Thanks for any information on this pistol.

how cheap? I would say check out a Kel-Tec or if you want to spend a little more an SR9 is a good choice

I like the original design Ruger handguns for this purpose. Something like the P89, or P95. They are ugly in a beautiful sort of way, and built like tanks and extremely reliable. But cheap enough that you wont get upset if it gets scratched to hell in a bag

My edc is the ruger p95, pros- easy to work, take down is a breeze, poly lower with metal slide (i have the blue steel, stainless is easier to combating rust). easy to control (full frame= big hands) if your a glock guy, this isnt your gun, the palm angle is closer to a colt which is how i was raised. Price, i paid 280$ brand spanking new (i feel that the price point over value is most bang for your buck). 16+ 1 double stacked. Decocker safety, good for deescalating after pulling ( vs manual when pumped full of adrenalin) Cons- full frame, concealment is an issue with this firearm, i plan on going compact (or sub) in the near future. My ruger is very picky about taking aftermarket mags, tend to ftf (failure to feed) and fte (failure to eject), so i dont use aftermarket.
I concur with bryce, Sr9 is a good route. My 2 cents

Thanksffor the information on other mfg'g, but i already have 2 edc's to choose from. My primaryis an m&p40. I am interested in the canik because they run just over $300, come with 2 x 18 round mag's, a factory holster, a factory cleaning kit with wire brush, 2 back straps, and the hard case. All of the rreviews I have read equate it to a walther. Ppq and I would like to try one before I buy. If I can't try one out in the next week or so, i will just go buy one anyway.

Hubby and I were just at shooters world and tried out a few different 9mm. Loved the Walther Ppx. Seen someone selling one on here for $299.
