KILO GUNS in Phoenix- Please read to save you a Hassle

Hi,Here is my experience with KILO GUNS in Phoenix. Thank you, Larry My Dad was a Gunsmith in ND and before he passed away in January 2017 he gave me his old Belgium Browning 9MM. I brought my Dad's pistol to Wyatt the Owner of Kilo Guns on 10/20/17. I asked him to re-blue the slide, he said they could easily do it and the charge would be $125.00, I agreed and left the fully functioning pistol with him. Several times I called to ask for an update and they would always say they were “Very Busy”. In March 2018 they said it was done, when I arrived the slide looked terrible. Wyatt agreed that it wasn't acceptable and told me he would have his Gunsmith re-do the work. April 2018 I called back, it still wasn't done but was told it would be ready in May. I called back around May 10th they said it still wasn't complete but they would send it to me in North Dakota so I could show my Family, Dad's old pistol.I was in North Dakota from May 15th till June 20th; they never called or sent me my pistol as promised. June 22nd I went to the Gun Shop asked about my pistol and it still hadn't been put together, their only excuse was that they were “Real Busy”. I told Wyatt that he shouldn't have taken the job if they were that busy and it definitely doesn't take 8 months to blue a pistol slide. He had an assistant try giving me the pistol in pieces and I said I brought it in complete & functioning and that is how I expect it back. They forced me to leave, 6/25 I called Wyatt, he told me it still wasn't put together so I said I'm coming to pickup my pistol. When I got there no one would come to the counter and they had my pistol in a box in more pieces then when I saw it on 6/22. Wyatt sent an assistant to make me leave, no one would answer my questions and he slammed the door in my face.I immediately took it to another Gun Shop for inspection to make sure they gave me all the parts. They saw my original Kilo Guns receipt and were amazed at the lack of service and how this issue was handled.I have since filed a complaint with the BBB and posted this information on YELP.KILO Guns doesn’t deserve your business.KILO Guns21411 N. 11th Ave Suite 12Phoenix, AZ 85027(602) 466-1356

This is the way it should be, if a shop screws someone over we should call them out on it! I work for a local gunsmith part time and rebluing a slide is a 2-3 day turn around at most, no matter how busy the shop is. That job is what most shops want, it is an easy job & fast turn around, meaning more profit for the shop. The longer a firearm stays in the shop, means lower profit margins!

Sorry to hear about your pistol. It sucks that happened to you. I've used that shop for a small job before, and the service was excellent. Dropped my gun off in the morning to get a set of suppressor sights installed, and it was ready by early afternoon. Price wasn't bad either, I think I paid 40 bucks or something. I'd be interested to hear their side of the story regarding your slide. It seems crazy that they'd screw up a simple re-blue so badly that they'd need to hold onto the gun for months.

The 9MM slide had the bluing wore off the top and some pitting from being stored in a holster. The first time Wyatt said it was done the bluing was light on top and there was still visible pitting, Wyatt said it should have been done better & suggested the re-do. I paid him in full hoping that would speed up the re-do.When Wyatt promised to get it done and send it up to ND and I didn’t even get a call, my patience was gone. Wyatt’s refusal to talk to me, NO apology and giving me the pistol in handfuls of parts is beyond poor service.If my issue saves one Shooter from KILO hassle, that’s s great.I filed a written complaint with the BBB.
