I have two old flintlock rifles for sale. I inherited these several years ago, I believe they were built by my grandfather from kits in the ‘50’s. To the best of my knowledge, they have not been fired since at least the ‘80’s. I took them to Legendary Guns a few years back to get their impressions. One is a .45 cal, the other is a .50 cal. Aside from the family history, some brief internet research, and what they have told me, I have no knowledge base on either of these. They concurred that they appeared to be older kits, but had not been fired in many years. They recommended that they not be fired, and used as nice wall hangers due to the age, somewhat unknown history, and fracture in the wood stock of one of them.
I am selling these as nice wall hangers. With some elbow grease, they could clean up nicely, or leave them alone and display as conversation pieces. I do not have the desire to do so, and frankly they are taking up room in the safe. I can’t imagine I would ever get around to trying to fire them, so I am listing them for sale to hopefully go to a nice home.
Legendary Guns had given me a ballpark estimate on a value of $100-$150 each. I would like to get $150 total for both of them as a package. I’d also entertain trades for reloading equipment, various AR accessories, scopes, etc. I would prefer to meet in north Phoenix. For the quickest response, please text me at 630-973-9766. Thank you.
