AZ CCW vs DL Question

Hello,

New here but appreciate the community.

I am a dual resident of two states. My DL is from another state, but I have a valid AZ CCW. Will this pose any challenges when buying a firearm from a retail store in AZ, private party or at a gun show in AZ?

Pretty sure you will have to show that you're a resident of Arizona to buy a pistol here. When filling out a 4473, most of the time they just want to see my CCW. But I have also been asked to show my drivers license. Private party you probably won't be asked. Gun show, yes if the seller is a FFL.

If your in the military on orders just bring a copy of your orders and it wont be a hassel at all

You have to be a resident of the state you're purchasing a pistol in (rifles are different). So if your drivers license is not AZ (regardless if you have an AZ CCW or not) then you will not be able to purchase a pistol here.

Thanks, John. Getting an AZ license because it will match my CCW and also the reasonable gun laws of AZ.

That is what I would do. Making yourself an Arizona resident has its benefits
