LOWER RECEIVER SPECS:

GRADE
AFM (American Firearms Maunufacturing Company, LLC) manufactures premium lower receivers for military weapon system production (M16/M4 select fire) and civilian market (AR-15) for both semi-automatic firearms and in the stripped configuration. These are in house precision manufactured, not a vendor produced marking variance as with the majority of brands in the industry. Each premium lower receiver is made from the finest forging available. Each forging is hand inspected and measured for any structural or cosmetic blemishes and flaws. All prep work is done by hand. They are machined on state of the art CNC milling centers by highly experienced personnel with decades of experience. They are machined and inspected one at a time per the Govt. drawing (+/- .005") maintaining half the drawing tolerance (+/- .0025"). We do not use multiple process part fixtures. We manufacture receivers one at a time in a 4 stage process. We inspect each part after each process before it moves on to the next.

We only use American made raw materials, on American made machines, to produce an American made product.
Each part is hand checked and inspected at every step of the way to maintain strict QA (quality assurance). Each receiver is completely finished by hand. The forging seam, all sharp edges, and safety stop lugs (the same as full auto models for quick change from safe to auto), are completely removed, thus, giving the receiver a more consistent symmetric and cosmetically appealing appearance. Safety stop half lugs are available upon customer request. Each receiver is then engraved one at a time on separate CNC engravers for correct nomenclature and character depth min .003" - max .009". Once this is achieved, they receive a light de-burring in our automated de-burring machines. Every single receiver goes through a final inspection process to ensure quality control standards and then prepped for hard coat anodize. We only use MIL-STD Type III, class II hard coat anodize per MIL-A-8625 which is .001" + / -10%. Custom engraving, both laser and mechanical, is available. All premium production grade receivers to be sold as stripped will have an “S” suffix in the serial number.

MATERIAL
Each forging is made from 7075-T6 aircraft grade aluminum alloy. Each forging must meet MIL-STD raw part tolerance requirements per the forging drawing. Each forging must meet hardness and composition guidelines per MIL-STD and a CoC (certificate of conformance) must be accompanied with every shipment of forgings as proof of independent testing to meet Govt standards.

HARDNESS
Minimum hardness to be HRB 84 (pre anodize).

FINISHING
All receivers will be de-burred and free of sharp edges and tooling marks (where applicable) before final inspection. All sharp edges, forging seam, and tooling marks are removed by hand. Great pride and care goes into every receiver. This will be apparent to the end user upon inspection of the cosmetic attributes of the receiver or weapon system.

ANODIZE
All AFM lower receivers receive a Type III, class II hard coat anodize per MIL-A-8625 .001" +/- 10 % flat black.

All AFM products come with a lifetime guarantee to be free from manufacturing defects for hassle free functionality. In the event that there is a problem with an AFM product, AFM will repair, replace, or issue a refund.
